The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, popularly known as ABU is a Federal University in located Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was founded on 4 October 1962, as the University of Northern Nigeria. In today’s article, I will list you 150 notable alumni of ABU and their careers.

ABU is one of the best and oldest universities in Nigeria. It operates two campuses (Samaru main campus and Kongo campus, both located in Zaria).

Being the best federal university in the country, ABU owns pre-degree school which is located in Funtua, a few kilometres away from the main campus, Samaru, Zaria.

Meanwhile, the Samaru campus contains the administrative offices including senate building and the faculties of physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences, arts and languages, education, environmental design, engineering, medical sciences, agricultural sciences and research facilities.

The Kongo campus of ABU Zaria houses the faculties of Law and Administration. ABU Faculty of Administration has the following undergraduate courses:

  • Accounting
  • Business Administration
  • Local Government and Development Studies and
  • Public Administration Departments..

ABU Zaria is named after the first premier of Northern Nigeria, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello on 4th October, 1962.

The university runs a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (and offers associate degrees and vocational and remedial programmes). ABU Teaching Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Nigeria and Africa, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) offers the best medical courses in its academic programmes.
