Rules that guide fasting in Ramadan for 2022 and ever (list & explained)

Ramadan is termed to be the holiest month in Islam. Allah has made fasting compulsory for every adult healthy non traveler Moslem. Fasting in Ramadan has rules and regulations. Here, we will list and explain with you rules that guide fasting in the month of Ramadan.

When something doesn’t get rules, every one can wrongly participate it, right? In Islam, everything has rules and regulations. Without following the Islamic rules of fasting, Allah will not accept from you or wouldn’t reward you.

What an unexpressible situation of thirst and hunger experienced while fasting for complete 30 consecutive days while hoping to get a reward and find out you didn’t get any reward? Obey the rules of fasting in Ramadan to let Allah not be able to ignore other of your additional prayers.

What to do and not to do during fasting in Ramadan

As it implies to fasting in other ordinary months, during Ramadan, Muslims must abstain from eating any food, drinking any liquids, smoking cigarettes, and engaging in any sexual activity, from dawn to sunset.

In Ramadan while you are fasting, it is not allowed to take medication either swallowing it in dry. If you know that you continue fasting with that state of health abnormality, you can feel free to end your fasting that day.

  1. Don’t eat any food.
  2. Stop drinking from morning till evening.

Rules and regulations that guide fasting in Ramadan

1. Don’t eat any food

Fasting in the moth of Ramadan is made obligatory by Almighty Allah, the Creator of me and you and the entire universe. If you are mature, healthy and have a travel to go on, then Ramadan fasting is compulsory for you.

The way how Islamic fasting works is just to simply remain without eating from early morning down till evening when the sun is set. It is continual like that for complete one month, 29 days or 30 days.

2. Stop drinking from morning till evening

While you fasting, you are not allowed to drink any water, be it non alcoholic, tasteless or pure water in large or little quantity.

One of the rules that guide fasting in Ramadan is not drinking from morning till evening. You are advised to drink enough quantity of drink like cow’s milk, koonou, etc. during early morning before Fajr prayer.

Moslems are not permitted to take alcohol in any time including Ramadan.

3. Don’t smoke during Ramadan while you are fasting

Smoking a cigarettes or other related herbs like marijuana, cocaine, etc. is not permitted. In normal month, Moslems are not permitted to smoke any thing that alters the function of their moral system (brain).

Taking in what that makes someone gets insane is not allowed for every Moslem in Ramadan.

4. Stop having sex during the day

On normal circumstance, sexual intercourse is an act of worship when having with the one who is halal for you. When one is halal to you in terms of Islamic marriage, you can have sex with him/her any time of your choice. Though, while fasting, you are not allowed to.

However, after breaking your fast and performing various Nafla (non obligatory prayer), if you are not tired, you can have intimacy with your spouse in the month of Ramadan. Some people misinterpret this to as it is forbidden to have in the whole Ramadan.

Having sex with your halal spouse is allowed in Ramadan but don’t participate it during the day while fasting.

5. Don’t engage in useless activity

Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him) advises us not to engage in a joke that is useless. In fact, he further said that when none of you has beneficial thing to say, let him/her be silent as being silent would prevent him/her from saying sinful thing.

In the month of Ramadan while you are fasting, you are not allowed to sit among the large gathering of people discussing non Islamic related discussion or joking.

If you are fasting either in the month of Ramadan or not, the best place to find yourself is in the Mosque or a place where Islamic lecture is taking place. Always use your tongue to pray to God to near you your desires, distant you from what you afraid, etc.

6. Listening to non Islamic related sound is not allowed

While you are fasting in the month of Ramadan, you are not allowed to listen to sounds that non Islamic, for example, music. According to many Islamic scholars, they proved that listening to music in ordinary month is not permitted as a Moslem.

Another one of the rules that guide fasting in Ramadan is avoid listening to music or avoid going to where music is playing to have a full reward of your fasting.

7. Don’t look at the opposite sex and think deep

In Ramadan, letting semen eject from your private part in stimulation is highly forbidden and likely makes one fasting unaccepted or invalid. Hence, as a young man, if you know that you can’t control yourself, then don’t live with your wife or other woman during the day time.

Islam has taught us to be in fast when any one of us reaches the stage of getting married while can’t afford to marry as a result of lack of money or accommodation. If you are a type of person who look at other opposite sex and think deep, please don’t look too much while fasting.

8. Watching a TV show that is not related to Islam is not allowed

If you are fasting in Ramadan, don’t watch TV program that is completely not related to Islam. Do not watch adult or porn videos and the rest.

Throughout the thirty or twenty nine days in the month of Ramadan, what all true believers are advised to do is only praising their Lord, sending blessing and salutations to our noble prophet and also praying to Him to grant then their desires and separate them with what they don’t like.

Instead of spending several hours watching TV show that is irrelevant, try to listen to Islamic program via radio or television, one of the best TV stations is Peace TV.

9. Don’t eat/drink publicly

In the event that you are not fasting as a result of health abnormality or on the journey, don’t eat food or drink water among those that are fasting. In Islam, such act is forbidden.

If for example, some become attracted to how or what you are eating and break his/her own fasting, that is a great offence you have ever committed. From this view, stay indoor while eating and don’t let other people know that you are not fasting except your husband or wife.

10. Don’t do work that is over your power

Even God Himself does not make what is above one strength obligatory. The duty in Islam is part by part, take the part that is not over hand you or suffer you.

Here, we can suggest the type of work or how you should work in the month of Ramadan while fasting. The thing to take note of is avoid engaging in over work. Don’t over labor yourself too much in order to make get strength to carry out your other fasting on and on without becoming sick.
