OAU and Direct Entry form for 2022
OAU Direct Entry registration, cut-off mark, application cost, screening date and deadline for the 2022/2023 academic session have been announced.
OAU cut-off mark for 2021 is 200, application form will cost N2000, forms will be on sale from Thursday, 7 October to Thursday, 19 October, 2022.
Candidates who made the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife their first choice in the 2021 JAMB direct entry registration and scored 200 and above are hereby informed to log on to the OAU admissions portal, admissions.oauife.edu.ng or the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife website (www.oauife.edu.ng) to register for their direct entry screening exercise from October 7th, 2022.
OAU direct entry requirements in 2022
- Candidates who made the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife the First Choice Institution during the registration JAMB 2022/2023 direct entry and scored 200 points and above are eligible for screening.
- In addition, candidates must possess five (5) credit passes including English Language at not more than two (2) sittings.
- Candidates who do not participate in the Post-UTME screening will not be considered for admission.
- DE Students should ensure that their transcript is forwarded by the Awarding Institution to the Admission Office, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for DE Admission processing.
Admission Requirements
The minimum entry requirements to the first year is a General Certificate of Education (or equivalent) with Credit passes in at least five subjects chosen from a list approved from time to time by Senate provided that in each case all the five subjects are taken and passed at not more than two sittings.
- One of the passes shall be a pass at ‘O’ Level or equivalent in English Language.
- Except in the cases of candidate for admission to the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Law, and for the Bachelor of Arts in Education in the Faculty of Education, one of the credit passes shall be a pass at ‘O’ Level or equivalent in Mathematics.
- A pass in the General Paper of the Higher School Certificate is regarded as equivalent to a credit pass in English Language at ‘O’ Level.
How to apply for OAU direct entry step by step
Registration for the 2022 OAU Direct Entry screening exercise will commence on Thursday, 7 October and end on Thursaday, 21 October, 2022.
In the same vein, applicants of OAU direct entry should note that the screening fee is N2,000.
To register, please follow the step by step instructions below:
- Visit admissions.oauife.edu.ng
- Log on to the site with your Registration Number as Username and your Surname as Password.
- Fill the biodata form and click continue.
- Obtain an RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) from this site only, and use it to make payment online or at any commercial bank.
- Once payment is accepted, the system logs out and you can now re-login again.
- The screening exercise will be done online.
- Applicants that provide false information, or upload incorrect credentials will automatically be disqualified
- Candidates are required to check their screening schedule on the OAU Portal from 22nd October, 2022.
- Candidates will also be required to participate in the Post UTME screening on their allotted dates and time from 27th October to 29th October, 2022.

OAU direct entry courses and their requirements

1. Faculty of Administration
I. B.Sc Accounting (4 years Programme)
- UME: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ level credits which should include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any two other subjects from Government, Yoruba, Biology.
- Direct Entry: Candidates with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accounting with minimum of Upper Credit are accepted. OR
- Advanced Level: Candidates with Advanced Level passes in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, plus Government and Geography or ICAN/ATS I, II and III.
II. B.Sc International Relations (4 years Programme)
- UME: English Language, Mathematics, Government and any other Social Science subject.
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government plus any two other subjects from History, Geography and Yoruba.
- Direct Entry: Candidates must have passes in Government and Economics in addition to a credit passes in any of the following subjects: History and French.
III. B.Sc Local Government Students (4 years programme)
- UME: English Language, Mathematics, Government and any one of the following: Geography, Economics, History and Religious Studies.
- ‘O’ Level requirement: Credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics at not more than two sittings.
- Direct Entry:
- Candidates must possess GCE A/L or equivalent in at least two Social Science subjects one of which must be Government. In addition, candidates must satisfy the ordinary level requirements.
- Holders of Diploma in Local Government and other related Diplomas from recognized Institutions at Upper Credit Level (CGPA – 3.5 and above);
- In addition to a, b, applicants must have at least five credit passes in the WASC/SSCE or NECO in English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics and any other relevant subject obtained at not more than two sittings.
IV. B.Sc Public Administration (4 years programme)
- UME: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any of Government, History and Geography.
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: English Language, Mathematics and any 3 of Economics, Government/History and Geography at not more than 2 sittings.
2. Faculty of Agriculture
I. B.Sc Agriculture (5 years programme)
- UME: English Language, Biology or Agriculture Science, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
- ‘O’ Level Entry Requirements: Credit passes at GCE O’Level or School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (S.S.S.C) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and any other subject.
- Direct Entry: Candidates with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Agriculture obtained at Upper Credit Level from this University or any other recognized institution or equivalent status may be considered for direct entry to Part II but they will not be exempted from the Internship year.
- Two ‘A’ Level Passes in Chemistry and any of Biology, Agricultural Science, Zoology and Botany.
- Candidates with Higher National Diploma in Agriculture obtained at Upper Credit Level from this University or any other recognized Institution of equivalent status may be considered for Direct Entry to Part II provided they satisfy the ‘O’ Level requirements. II. B.Ed. Fine and Applied Arts (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: GCE ‘O’ Level or TC II Credit/Merit passes in five subjects including Fine Arts and English Language.
- Direct Entry: GCE ‘A’ Level or NCE credit/merit passes in Fine Arts and one other Arts subject plus 3 other ‘O’ Level/TC II subjects including English Language passed at Credit or Merit Level.
III. B.Ed. Education/French (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level or TC credit/merit passes in five subjects including English Language and French.
- Direct Entry: ‘A’ Level passes must include French and one other Arts subject. Candidate with NCE French (Double Major) plus THREE other credit passes at ‘O’ Level or TC II may be considered.
IV. B.Ed. Education/History (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level credit passes in five subjects which must include English Language and History. TC II with at least merit/credit passes in 5 relevant subjects may be accepted.
- Direct Entry: NCE credit/Merit passes in History and one other relevant Arts subjects.
V. B.Ed. Education/Language Arts (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements:Five TC/O/L credits including English Language, English Literature and Yoruba or French.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level/NCE credit/merit passes to include Literature in English And Yoruba or French. Associationship Certificate of the University with a merit pass Or its equivalent. UME O/L requirements should be met.
VI. B.Ed. Music (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level credit or equivalents including English Language & Music. TC II or Certificate in Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRASM) may be accepted.
- Direct Entry: ‘A’ Level passes in Music & one other subject. NCE with credit/merit in Music.
VII. B.Ed. Physical and Health Education (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ level credits or TC II merit passes which could be any of Arts, Social Sciences or Science Subjects but must include English Language.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level passes which could be from any subject area. NCE or Diploma in Physical and Health Education from recognized institutions plus any 3 other ‘O’ Level or TC II subjects passed at credit or credit/merit levels including English Language.
VII. B.Ed. Education/Christian Religion (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level credits or TC II merits in five subjects including English Language, Bible Knowledge and any other three subject.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level passes or NCE credit/merit passes in Religious Studies and One other Arts subjects.
IX. B.Ed. Yoruba (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level/TC II credit or merit passes including English and Yoruba.
- Direct Entry: Two NCE/Two ‘A’ Level passes in Yoruba and any Arts subject.
XI. B.Ed. Education/Biology/Botany (4 years programme)

XIII. B.Ed. Education/Mathematics (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level credits in five subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
- Direct Entry: ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry. The minimum Requirements of at least three subjects at O’Level should be English and Mathematics
XV. B.Ed. Mathematics/Integrated Science (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ level credits or five merit/credit passes at TC II. The subjects must include English Language, Mathematic and two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science and Agric. Science.
- Direct Entry: ‘A’ Level passes in at least two science subjects plus three other ‘O’Level Credits including English and Mathematics OR NCE in Mathematics/Integrated Science plus three other subject including Mathematics and English Language passed at credit or Credit/merit levels in the TC II OR a pass at credit/merit level in Mathematics/Integrated Science in the Associationship Certificate in Education of OAU or its equivalent plus three credit passes in other O/Level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
XVI. B.Ed. Education/Physics (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level credits which must include English Language, Physics, Mathematics and two other subjects, one of which should be Chemistry or Agric. Science or Biology or Additional Mathematics.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and Mathematics. NCE with credit/merit passes in relevant subjects including Physics and one other Science subject.
XVII. B.Ed. Education/Economics (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level credit passers in five subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics and Economics plus any other two subjects.
- Direct Entry: ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and one other Social Sciences subject OR two merit passes at NCE in Social Sciences subjects including Economic. NCE Social Studies combined with any Social Science subject is also acceptable to OAU.
XVIII. B.Ed. Education/Geography (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level passes in 5 subjects which should include Geography, English Language and Mathematics.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects which must include Geography, plus other subject chosen from Economics, Mathematics, Business Method and Government OR NCE (Social Studies) combined with any Social Sciences subject may be accepted.
XX. B.Ed. Education/Political Science (4 years programme)
- ‘O’ Level Requirements: ‘O’ Level TC II credit/merit credit passes must include Government, English Language and Mathematics.
- Direct Entry: Two ‘A’ Level passes including Government and one other Social Science subject OR NCE with credit/merit passes in Government and any other Social Science subjects. NCE Social Studies combined with any Social Science is also acceptable.
XXI. B.Ed. Education/Social Studies (4 years programme)
- UME: Five ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language. Candidates with GCE O/L background should have credits in at least two of Economics, Geography, Government, History, Music, Fine Arts, Religious Studies and Home Economics. Those with TC II should have merits in English and two of Social Studies, History, Government, Home Economics, Fine Art and Music, Religious Studies and Literature in English.
- Direct Entry: NCE (Social Studies) from recognized Colleges of Education plus three other subjects including English passed at credit level in GCE O/Level or TC II at credit/merit levels in relevant subjects or Associationship Certificate in Education (Social Studies), of OAU or its equivalent passed at credit/merit level.

UME: All courses in the Faculty of Technology the compulsory subjects are: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry any other ‘O’ level subject at credit level can be the fifth subject for any of the courses in the Faculty of Technology.
Direct Entry: In addition to UME requirement, the candidate must possess OND Certificate from a recognized Polytechnic OR At least two ‘A’ level papers at GCE ‘A’ level Cambridge London.
