The USA visa is divided into two types; non-immigrant visas and immigrant visas.

Non-immigrant USA visas allow you to stay in the United States temporarily while immigrant visas allow you to move permanently to the United States.

How to apply for a USA visa
You must apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) in advance, which is free of charge online at the USA visa application portal (https://uk.usembassy.gov/). before arriving at the U.S./Canadian border if you plan on crossing over by land or air into another country within two hours after arrival in the country.
Immigrants must have a family member who is already in the United States or who has been approved for lawful permanent residence (LPR) before they can apply for an immigrant visa.
The sponsor must also be approved by USCIS and pass criminal background checks, health screenings, English proficiency exams, and interviews with CBP officials if necessary before being granted an LPR card that allows them entry into America.
An online nonimmigrant DS-160 application form is the electronic equivalent of the paper form. You can fill out the form on a computer or mobile device, print it out, and then sign it before submitting it.
In some cases, you will need to make an appointment at a United States consulate or embassy abroad before applying for a visa waiver program such as ESTA.
Because many countries require nonimmigrant visas from their citizens who want to stay longer than 30 days while visiting other countries without having any plans whatsoever beyond seeing family members back home who may not have been able to leave their own countries yet due to possibly being held hostage by terrorist groups like.

Passport photograph
To begin filling out your application, you’ll need to upload your photo in one of two ways:
- Uploading your photo by scanning it from an existing passport (if you don’t have this option available)
- Uploading your photo by taking a picture through an app like Google Photos
One photograph is required. You can take the picture yourself, or you can have someone else take it for you.
The quality of your photo is important to USCIS, so make sure it’s clear and sharp enough for them to see clearly in their computer system.
If you’re using a digital camera (which most people are these days), ensure that the resolution is at least 640×480 pixels with 16-bit color depth (the bit depth refers to how many shades of gray exist in your image).
If possible, use natural light as much as possible; don’t use artificial light sources like flashbulbs or lighting equipment with lenses at all! Also, make sure that nothing obscures any part of your face when taking the photo; this includes hats and sunglasses unless they’re worn by someone else in front of themselves!
Application payment
- Nonimmigrant visa: $160
- Immigrant US visa application: $190 – $205.
You will need to provide proof of payment for a nonimmigrant US visa application. The way you pay depends on the type of visa and whether or not it’s an in-person interview.
If your application is being processed at a U.S consulate outside the United States, then you can pay online with a credit card or by check made payable to the US Department of State.
If your application is being processed at a U.S embassy or consulate in Canada, then you will have to make an appointment with them before submitting payment, then visit them with that payment after receiving their confirmation email from us so we know that everything was sent correctly!
However, if you have a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) visa, then your application for a tourist or business visitor visa will be processed by the U.S. Embassy or consulate in your country of residence instead of being sent to the U.S. Department of State for further review.
Note the information provided on your online application must be consistent with what appears on your passport and other documentation submitted at the time of application.
For example, if you use an old passport that does not include an expiration date, then it will not be accepted by US authorities as valid proof of identity and nationality unless there is an outstanding issue with it that cannot be resolved without additional verification such as a signature.
You may need to provide evidence showing that:
- Your visit meets certain requirements set forth by law;
- You plan to return home within 90 days after arrival;
- You have enough funds available for expenses related to travel within those 90 days.
