The Nigerian national anthem is an oath which every Nigerian sings in a melodious way in a special occasion and the Nigerian national pledge in the other hand is an oath and prayer which Nigerian recite in a congregation.

You can promise the community that “this village is my father’s land so, i will provide electricity for this community”. What you have said was a promise to your father’s land (you have given yourself an oath). That’s what the Nigerian national anthem and pledge mean.

But, when every Nigerians wanted to sing the national anthem, he/she should sign it melodiously. Furthermore, when any Nigerian sings Nigerian national anthem as if he/she is reading newspaper, he/she is absolutely not correct infact, he/she should be penalized.
