His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello on November 9th 2019 during Kogi State governorship election campaign at the University campus, Anyigba, Dekina LGA of Kogi State Nigeria, changed this.
The executive Governor of Kogi State, his Excelency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello with his Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja have announced the change of name of Kogi State University to Prince Abubakar Audu University at the school’s campus.

Name of KSU has changed to PAAU (KSU latest news)
The school management and National University commission (NUC) have been informed that the certificate of every graduating student of Kogi State University from 2019 henceforth would be headed as PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU UNIVERSITY, ANYIGBA, KOGI STATE.
This changing of the name of this school (KSU) honours Late Prince Abubakar Audu, the first executive governor of Kogi State.

Alhaji Yahaya Bello is an Ebira man, but for the love and unity mind he has for Kogi State, he has made the contribution to change the name of KSU to PAAU regardless, Prince Abubakar Audu is not his Language-mate.
All Kogites, especially those who have the pain of Late Audu’s death have become glad due to the change of name of KSU to the name of their loved one (Prince Abubakar Audu) by Executive governor of Kogi State, his Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello on 9th November 2019.
Every Kogites remained honoured during the campaign and had voted him to be re-elected for the completion of his second tenure administration.
His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello did not plan to campaign by changing the KSU’s name to the name of the public’s loved one, Late Prince Abubakar Audu but his deed had campaigned for him.
The general public who didn’t like his administration to vote him but had voted him because of the honest and justice deed he made about the changing of Kogi State state’s university (KSU) to Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba during his campaign.

What was the date of Kogi State governorship election for 2019
The date which Governor Yahaya Bello made the change of KSU name was on 9th of November. That is, during his campaign. And the election (voting) was done on 22nd of November 2019.
Some Voters said that the election was free and fair but others said that it was rigged while others said that it is God only knows what had happened (the best one).

The prayer which Kogites made was that “Anybody who serves his Fathers’ land, may God bless and prosper him and anybody who steals his fathers’ properties and investments, may God, the Lord and creator of the world disgrace and punish such person and finally such child must not be born in our fathers’ land, if be must be born, he will be born in other place far away. Amen”
